Realtime North America Integrates SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 into bioLock for SAP

Santa Clara, California (October 27, 2015)

SecuGen, the world’s leading optical fingerprint device vendor, is pleased to announce the immediate availability of biometric identity management and fraud prevention for SAP® system users with SecuGen’s flagship fingerprint reader, the Hamster Pro 20.

SecuGen fingerprint scanners are fully compatible with bioLock software, which gives SAP users biometric control of sensitive system activities at granular levels, such as financial transfers, access to customer or vendor master data and viewing of confidential company reports or intellectual property. Biometric credentials can be re-authenticated when users request restricted information or perform mission-critical activities, using a SecuGen Hamster series reader combined with bioLock software. Passwords become irrelevant and are replaced with robust biometric control. This enhances governance, regulatory compliance and strictly enforces Segregation of Duties (SoD) procedures.

SecuGen fingerprint readers are well known around the world for being accurate, rugged, and affordable. The Hamster Pro 20 is an ultra-compact reader that is IP65 certified. The Hamster Pro 20 is FAP 20 certified by the FBI and is listed on the GSA Approved Products List. In addition, the Hamster Pro 20 is STQC certified for use in India’s Aadhaar project.

Jeff Brown, VP of Sales and Marketing stated, “The Hamster Pro 20 fingerprint reader works seamlessly with bioLock and SAP software to give security administrators more control than ever before. If a user fails a SecuGen biometric authentication by attempting an unauthorized activity, a supervisor can be automatically alerted by email of the logged security violation. The SecuGen Hamster reader therefore becomes an integral part of an SAP data loss and insider fraud prevention system.”

“The SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 is a great product; it is small, rugged and works incredibly well. It is very easy to use with great speed and image quality,” stated Thomas Neudenberger, COO of realtime North America Inc. “We are very impressed with the ergonomics and quality of this reader. The adoption and acceptance of biometrics in corporate environments is dependent on ease of use and convenience as provided by SecuGen’s Hamster line of fingerprint readers.”

Won Lee, CEO of SecuGen, added, “We are very pleased to be working with realtime AG and realtime North America. Together we are able to provide a level of security demanded by SAP customers which happen to be some of the world’s most visible corporations.”
